With a different PSN account, that no longer applies because the top priority is to stop some sort of possible theft and therefore wants the data wiped period. My best guess on the other end then is that the reformatting issue is coming from something being in "use" and so it just will not let you do it. So when I tried to open a different file, it took as two files trying to work at once. So it died with game open and I think it is most likely that it considered the game open and it got stuck. Did not think about the battery during the outage. My guess is to how it happened to me is during a power outage I was in Plants vs Zombies. This force wipes the card no matter what and it goes back to working like normal. Either put it in a Vita with a different PSN account or put a different PSN account on your Vita. I know this is old, but I just had to deal with this issue myself and I have a solution. Oddly, if I boot into the system without the memory card inserted, then insert it (without reboot) and go into Vitashell, then connect to PC via USB, the PC picks up the memory card and displays it's files rather than the internal memory card's files. I also tried to format it in safe mode but I get this: "Cannot find the update file." and then it gives me error C4-10278-8 once again. When trying to format the card, I get error C4-10278-8. Windows finished the process and then the ps vita wasn't able to use the card properly anymore. So blindly, what I did was clicked on it. A message appeared on my PC saying "There's a problem with this drive. I've read online that this error basically means the card is corrupted / dead.īasically what happened was I connected to my PC w/ Vitashell via USB.

This happened months ago so some details may not be completely accurate or whatever. So I decided i wanted to get back into Vita hacking but then I remembered that my 8GB memory card is corrupted or something.
